Loafer Love!!!!

It’s so hard to find the perfect pair of loafers, trust me I was on the hunt for a while.  Well I finally found the perfect pair and thanks to my amazing bf I own them as well. The best part is I can throw these on with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and still look well put together. If you're looking for a pair yourself then these a the shoes to invest in, you can never go wrong with a classic pair of Prada loafers.

Dreams Do Come True!!!

Now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over I can finally get back to blogging, I’ve been so lazy lately, the holidays always seem to do that to me. This Christmas was beyond special to me, not only did I get to spend it with the people I love the most (my family) but I also got to celebrate my very first Christmas with my boyfriend. I couldn’t have asked Santa for anything more but he did decide to spoil me with a few gifts I mentioned on my blog and some extra I didn’t even expect.  I got around to take a few pics of the gifts and will post more whenever I get a chance.

My very first pair of Nicholas Kirkwood thanks to my Santa (my sis Rozy)

I've wanted a pair of Hunter boots since high school and finally got a pair thanks to my lovely bf!

The only thing I really wanted!!!

Fashion a Luxury?????

Did luxury really lose its luster? Well if you asked me a few months ago I would say no, but today after reading Deluxe my answer is YES!!! Before I start rambling off about this book, I want to give a special thanks to my friend Dipti (a.k.a Dipu), I have always said that she should start a blog of her own because of her extensive knowledge of all things fashion related and still think she should, well like many things she has introduced me to, this book was given to me by her as well and it has changed my entire outlook on fashion and labels. Like many young girls out there I was label-obsessed, as long as it had a high-end brand tagged on the back of my clothing or in front of my bag; I knew it had to be made of the finest materials around. Well was I wrong, those days long gone with the designers who the labels are created after.  This is the era of business-men not designers, the bags and clothes you love so dear are mass produced in factories in countries like China and India. There is no longer hand-made craftsmanship and attention to detail. They sell you the dream of luxury which was created long before your time. It’s like buying pretzels for the price of caviar. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a few brands out there that take pride in their work and sell you the highest quality product, but it’s a dying breed. I’m not saying boycott all designer brands, atleast I’m not planning on it anytime soon but all I’m saying is that fashion is not a luxury (yes I know it was Sarah Jessica Parker’s slogan for Bitten lol). Fashion can be found anywhere from Wal-Mart to Valentino, it’s up to the person to find it!!!

Surprises,Surprises,Surprises!!!!!

Usually I’m not big on surprises; I always know exactly what I’m getting on my birthday and Christmas. But yesterday I came home to the best surprise in a long time. Earlier in the month I  did a post on a jewelry line by byboe that I was totally smitten by, well my boyfriend (Bhavin, hence the "B")  surprised me with the earrings and pendent that I blogged about. I had no clue he ordered it!!!! Well needless to say I'm a very happy girlfriend today. The earrings are quirky and adorable and I plan on living in them for a while and for the pendent – here begins the beginning of a collection!!!!!

Latest Obession- All things that glitters!!!!

I’m not sure if it’s the holiday season with all the bright shiny lights and glitter encrusted ornaments that put me in the mood for sequins, but all I know is that I’m head over heels with this latest trend. You can find it just about everywhere from dresses, shoes, blazers, pants, to headbands! A little glitter never hurt nobody!!!

LANVIN FOR H&M

Hundreds of people lined up early, some overnight, outside of  H&M stores to be the first to buy from Lanvin's newest collection in the U.S . Since joining Lanvin as artistic director in 2001, Alber Elbaz has transformed the Paris-based label, founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin. Elbaz has pioneered some of the biggest trends of the past decade - ribbon, bows, pearls, raw edges, specific colors and metallic embellishments.  Unfortunately Houston, TX does not have a H&M store, but if you're like me you'll find a way to get your hands on the collection (I have a friend who has a sister who lives in FL. that said she will get me the things I like, THANKS A MILLION DIPU AND NIKI!!!!) till then I plan on drolling over the pics.

I'm Baccccckkkkkk!!!!

After a long hiatus I am glad to say I’m back. There are no legit excuses for my lack of posting besides the lack of inspiration. Yesterday night after sifting through mounds of magazines I realized something, that I really missed blogging and from here on I will continue blogging on a regular basis. I would also like to apologize to the people who kept checking out Keeping up with Kristy and thank them for all of their support.

Going through one of the magazine, these earrings caught my eye and after checking out their website (byboe.com) I found some great pieces that I could order at a great price.

I plan on getting two different letters, a K for my initial and a B for my boyfriends initial. Its always better to switch it up!!

How adorable are these pendents, I plan on layering as few together with my siblings and parents initials.

There leather rings are great alone are stacked together and they come in great metallic colors!

Thrifty Business

Vintage shopping is my new favorite hobby; I can spend hours and hours looking for hidden gems. But if you’re not a 100% sure if vintage is your thing, then I would advise you to start off small with little pieces here and there and then work your way up to a full on commitment. Always remember that vintage is not a costume, don’t wear a single decade head to toe or it will end up looking like a Halloween costume. Instead take the best part of each decade and make it work for today. Also be open-minded, go ahead and try new things you will be surprised at what may look great on you.  One thing for sure with all types of clothing is, always stay true to your style!

Here are a few great vintage finds my sister and I found!!!!
